One of my CO2 regulators will not hold a constant pressure on the right gauge. I noticed it when trying to set the bubble rate on the CR. I had it set on 10 PSI and over the course of two or three minutes it will fluctuate between about 8 and 14. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Can these things be rebuilt?

Thanx

that's a common issue with the lesser regulators that aren't designed with Ca reactor/planted tank use in mind. is it a welding shop 20 buck regulator??

No, it came from Premium Aquatics.

Is it a new bottle and was it up to temp when you connected everything?

The bottle's been in use since July 06

premium sells some of the lower end regulators too, but if it's a M3 you've likely got trash in the diaphragm.

Can it be taken apart and cleaned?

you can usually flush it out by removing the solenoid and screwing the regulation knob in a 4-5 turns, then open the valve on the bottle and let it blow it out. prolly not best to be done in the house so take it outside :)
