Hi guys,

There are many different options when it comes to lighting in marine systems...what i dont fully understand is when i read about lights with 20000k, 14000k, 10000k etc etc...can someone please explain???

Also which of these best suits which type of corals etc??

Thanks in advance.

im still kind of a noob here...but i would think its the combination that would be good...not having just a 15k light but mix it in with some anatics or something as well to try to get a full spectrum

The numbers mentioned, 10k etc. are are a representation of the color temperature and what you choose has a lot to do with what you want the tank to look like. Some people like a very blue look, others not so much. You don't mix lights to get full spectrum, a full spectrum bulb is required to do that.

ideally id like to have that 'actinic' look as i plan on leeping LPS in my new setup. So what 'k' would be best for that??
