Advanced Aquarist has a review of the Aqua Illumination System's LED lighting unit right here (http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2007/10/review).

The review is very positive, with mention made of AI's use of the Seoul Semiconductor LEDs. If the measurements and analysis in the review are correct, this new LED system blows metal halide out of the water.

Thats pretty cool......I just wish they would have used something different than a cheap parabolic reflector and a xm20k.......which is a terrible combination imo.

Yeah, good point -- though I'll bet there are more spider reflectors out there than Luminarcs. On the other hand, someone who is thinking of plopping down a couple of grand for a new lighting rig probably isn't using a $30 reflector on their current lighting. It *is* an apples vs. oranges comparison, isn't it...

it's about time something was released about it. i do agree, tho, that something other then an xm250w 20k should be used. also, i haven't seen anything about par levels for depth's of, say, 24"+.
