What is a very good PAR or Lux Meter that is priced under $300?

This (http://webtrolley.org/mivastore/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=apogee&Product_Code=QMSS-ELEC&Category_Code=BQM) is one of the better meters for measuring or you can get the Lux meter that is around 80 bucks, not as accurate as its skewed more toward the human eye for the measurements, then you can take the Lux reading Lux x .0111 + 1.53 = PAR which is a rough estimate for Par using Lux

With the Apogee PAR meter does it display the PAR value or do you have to calculate it with an equation?

The apogee displays it with correct PAR values... the equation is used for lux meters to convert to the PAR value, which is not completely accurate but more of a rough estimate.

Any idea how close the Lux meter is for most of our aquarium applications?
