Hello all!

Here is my question. I have a 90 gallon system. It currently has 2 250 watt halides. one with 20,000k bulb another with 14.5 k Geissman (I do not like the color) I here the 14.5 k are great for SPS But yet on the side with 14.5 k the sps are not that colorful. I want to add another 250 watt 20k bulb right next to it to get some color going next to the 14.5 k. Is this too much light???

Thanks!

I don't see why not go with just swapping out the 14k for a second 20k, if that's the look you're after. I have SPS under nothing but 20k and it's fine, although, every tank is different. I suspect if your 20k side is thriving, a 20k over the other side would have similar results.

750w over a 90 seems like a lot (like, more than I'd want to pay the electric bill for). Whether they'd tolerate it would have to do with how deep they are among other things, stuff tank-specific that you may have to play with. Again, if they're doing well now, I'd keep it similar if you can.

g/l :)
