who uses single stage controller?

I'm cheap and dont really wanna spend the extra money for a dual stage controller if I dont have too. Does anyone use a single stage controller(ranco for example) without having to fuss or worry about heating or cooling? I figure, in the summer im just going to need to cool the tank. And in winter, im just going to need to heat the tank. I wont really need to run both a heater and fans.

Price difference between the two really isnt all that much....ive kicked it around a bit myself and ultimately went for the two stage (#1 for fan-chiller / #2 for heater) - set it up once and forget about it. Using a single stage you would have to reset the system twice a year (fall/winter=heater & spring/summer=fans) - ive seen single stage going for $75 and duals for $100 on RC recently... just keep checking the forums & a good deal will pop up...
