What is Mollybdenum and why should I be testing for it. What does it effect more LPS,SPS or leathers.

I don't test for molybdenum and don't see any reason to do so. This article covers all the important water parameters:

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.htm

I do perform regular water changes, though.

Why wouldn't you test for something that you dose? One of the Kent Marine products is Strontium and Molybdenum and I was just wondering what its purpose was.

I don't dose either strontium or molybdenum. The article outlines why. For tanks that don't get water changes, such supplements might be appropriate.

As best I can tell, the purpose is to part aquarists from their dollars ;)

I see absolutely no reason at all to be concerned about dosing or monitoring molybdenum (or strontium for that matter).
