I have a Sequence Barracuda plumbed from my basement to my kitchen and the thing is LOUD. I can hear it all over my house. Are there any muffling techniques to reduce this unwanted noise?

is it touching anything? transfer of vibration.... A rubber matt would dampen the sound. Also, I'd check out the impeller, it may be cracked or bent.

Its currently screwed into a block of wood which is sitting on a cinder block. I guess the transfer of vibration is pretty apparent with that. Its a I will try to find some foam or something to add between the wood and block.

I highly doubt (hope) the impellor isn't cracked or bent since I just bought this pump brand new.

If it is plumbed all the way with pvc, it may be vibration carrying up the pipe. Try holding the pipe and see if it gets quieter. If so, then you can either dampen the pipe with something, or connect the pump to the pipe with some vinyl tubing.

It is plumbed with PVC but I held on to the pipe and there was no change in noise.

I added a rather thick layer of cardboard but that didn't help much.
