well i went to the lfs to get water today and came home with a lubbocks wrasse, it was just so awesome looking i couldnt turn him down. i acclimated him and have him in my display he swam around for just a minute and now hes hiding in my rock i know most fish do this but ive never had a wrasse, i put a temporary top on the tank becasue i know they like to jump, its just a mesh type screen. is there anything specific i should know about this species, feeding habits normal behavior, what other fish and inverts they are compatiable with etc. sorry i dont have a pic like i said he hiding in the rock, but as soon as he comes out ill post pics he is absolutely beautiful. thank you for any help

It will be compatible with most or all reef fishes. Feeding, if he is a slow eater at first drop some live shrimp in there then start mixing in frozen shrimp or flakes if that is what you feed, variety is always the best, do you like eating taco bell every night? you dont have to answer that! :c)

Not to bash your lubbocks, but my mccoskers is way more awsome ;c).

They are a peaceful fish though and should be fed at least 2x a day as wrasses are very active fish. Enjoy, i wish i could have a tank full of wrasse fish, they are the most entertaining and beautiful fish there are. I have a feeling my basement walls are going to be covered in tanks to house all the wrasses i want.

ya i would say yours is not a lubbocks, and mine looks more like a carpenters than a mccoskers, but who knows you look in different books and they are switched around. but i would say yours is a red headed fairy, or something along those lines.

I dont think i could have passed up that one either.

lubbocks fairy wrasses come in many different colors. That very well looks like one.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, I don't think ruby headed wrasses have any yellow on their head.
