i was just wondering if it was possible to use super glue on a plastic piece that will go into my sump?

yep, people use it all the time to actually glue frags to rock so you shouldn't have an issue.

i knew that but is i also now that they use the gel not just regular. is there any difference?

you can use any type of superglue. I use both types for frags. no difference.

the gel just has a little more backbone to it allowing you to not have to sit there for an hour and let it set

ok great i just about lost it for a sec. the glue wasn,t set all the way though is that a factor

no, the skimmer may go a little crazy but people do it all the time

actually.... superglue will do almost nothing for glueing plastic to plastic . It was invented for glueing human skin, that's why we use it for frags ( it seals the wound ).

Also, it can be a hazard if used in the display. I have heard many horror stories of fish eating small bits of superglue and getting thier mouths glued shut.

um, you're saying superglue won't work on plastic? I'm not sure which superglue you're using, but most "normal" superglue is designed with plastic in mind.

just found a couple, all were several years old though with no updates. maybe the compound has changed then?
