Here's where I get mine sometimes.
And they even tell you what size hole you will need.

I don't know much about drilling glass tanks but you will want to make sure the glass is not tempered before you try. I have only drilled acrylic.

Well how big of a pump do you plan on putting on the CL?
Keep in mind squids arent rated for very much flow when compared to what some run on their closed loops.

normally the intake for a closed loop is 1-2 sizes bigger than the output. This is because the output will be pressurized and thus contain more flow vs the input at static tank pressure.

FWIW, any combination of sch80 or sch40 pipe and fittings (or bulkheads) will be compatible. They're all the same on the OD, it's only the wall thickness and therefore the ID that changes between sch40 and sch80.

The outside diameter of the pipe that fit does not vary from sch 40 to 80.

ok heres the run down - order bits off ebay from lau*** <--- thats his name on ebay. 28mm=1/2 38mm= 3/4 45mm=1" and 60mm=1 1/2" they should fit both sized bulkheads they work on my schedule 80 bulkheads. Its very easy to drill glass just make sure you keep it wet.
