Paypal won't help you if you did not make the purchase on ebay.

My response:

Am I reading this right?? Are you saying that PayPal won't solve a dispute if the sale wasn't on eBay?? If that's the case, what are our options for safe transactions??

Now I have started looking into other posts that say the same thing. Is this a new rule?? I had a dispute a few years back with a guy on here and PayPal helped to resolve it. Is this rule true?? How are we going to transfer monies and be insured?? Is it back to money orders via snail mail??

that is correct, if you didn't buy it from them (PayPal and eBay are one and the same) then they could care less if you got screwed. they don't want people on eBay jacking people around because it dips into their pocket twice.

if you pay for something through PayPal that isn't from eBay just make sure you pay via a credit card so you can go through the CC company if something goes astray.
