How to catch a fish

I have a yellow clown goby in my tank that I would like to get out but nets are out of question now now that the first three times failed and he is spooked by them. I have heard you can try to use a hook and bait but he is quite small for even a dull hook. Any other ideas besides taking out the rock?

Some have said wait until it is asleep, then net it...that is if it sleeps out where you can get at it. Sounds like a middle of the night caper!!!
