hey guys, i have two clown in my tank, and seem to have taken a artificial piece of coral as their home. is this normal? they were just swimming around the coral but then i added two coral banded shrimp to the tank and now all they do is stay inside the coral, anyone have any idea whats going on? will they ever come out of there? they've been there for like 3 hours now. here is a picture of them inside the coral

well i guess i'll have to keep the fake coral there then, if i add a anemone there do you think they will move to it ? here is a shot of the whole tank before they actually went inside the coral.....the tank if fairly new.

You might want a lot more rock work.

They have probably taken to this as they feel safe in it. I would think they would move to an anenome once one was introduced.

i just turned off the lights in the tank, the coral banded went to hide in the rocks and the clowns came out of their "home" now they are just swimming around it

I once had a clown that wouldn't leave my red heater knob for the life of it. Then I added a torch coral and it took a liking to that instead. So I think if you added an anemone they would go to it eventually.
