So I have a 40 gallon tank with a big sump. Is that still considered a nano tank. It is plumbed into a system with about 350 gallons of water (110 gal, 2 50 gal prop tubs, 100 gal sump). So is this still considered a nano tank?

Thanks
Sean

I don't think it's a nano.
Even though nano is not defined, I consider everything 30 and under a nano.

Compared to the ocean every tank is nano.

Well I guess my question is if I were to enter a nano tank of the month would it be alright.

Ya I think that in the tank of the month contest, they said that anything 40 and under in the display would be fine.

You may want to check though just to be certain.

PurpleUP "upgraded" this month nTOTM contest from 30g up to 40g in the display tank, so I believe you can be in.

He mentioned he did so because of the RSM... But the RSM is actually 29g in the display tank :)

Is your tank "truly" a "nano" is another story... but how many people really care?
