Which fish are sifters vs burrowers? I am getting all confused on goby's and jawfish... don't they both dig?

I'd like to have Caribsea Arag-Alive Bahamas Oolite Substrate but it says it's not safe for burrowers.... however it is safe for sifters.

I can only speak for some types.. the yellow headed watchman goby is not a burrower and a good sand sifter. I have a clown goby now that burrows but is also a good sand sifter (he burrows under the LR). I hope that helps. The brownbarred goby is a good sifter too and doesn't burrow. My fav in terms of looks would be the yellow headed goby. Good luck.

My gobies don't burrow for beans. I have a speckled goby who sifts and a yellow clown goby who does nothing but lay on top of my monti caps all day
