View Full Version : My lighting is it ...High, Medium or Low ???

Can someone tell me if my tank lighting is concidered High, medium or low watage. I am currently running two 175w 10,000k MH and two VHO Actinics 110w Fluorescents. I have to capacity to run as many as 4 VHOs but it seems like they would block the light coming from my MH which sit directly above my fluorescents.

On a 90 gal, that would be considered medium-low.

I'd vote that it is medium unless you have anemones or clams.

It really depends on what types of animals you plan to stock your tank with, and the tanks dimensions.

That is more or less what I said. Five watts per gallon is about average for many reef tanks. I like over six but it depends on what one has in the tank.
