White film while mixing SALT?

I have mixed salt in rubbermaid buckets for years. I recently setup a RO/DI unit and now my salt mixture has thick white film all inside the rubbermaid. It has been sitting there for a few days with a powerhead and heater.

Any chance it could harm my tank?
