I have a 29G bowfront that has been sitting in our TV room for some time with nothing in it but some gravel and freshwater.

My wife wants me to either put something in it or get rid of it, so I've decided to setup an aggressive FOWLR tank.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Live Rock <- I have plenty
Live Sand <- I have plenty
2x24" T5 lighting <- Have already
Rena XP3 Canister Filter for Carbon, Phosban, etc. <- Have already
Some type of HOB skimmer.

As far as livestock goes I was thinking:

Dwarf Zebra Lion
Small Snowflake Eel <- Maybe
One or two other things that would be compatible with the 2 above.

So, poke holes in my plan for me so I know I'm covering all of my bases. What's everyones' thoughts on livestock for this tank?

Last but not least, what type of HOB skimmer do people recommend? I want something that is quiet and not a total eye sore as this will be in our TV room where we have quests a lot.

Thanks!

cpr bak pak is a nice HOB skimmer - not too fancy and does the job.

your two fish are big eaters you have listed..... which translates to more mess .... which means more bad stuff in the water column..... not that I disagree with your choices but I would not add anything else.... I might look into a dwarf eel (not sure if that is accurate) but smaller more exotic eels are out there

I've got one if you want it . . . might need a new power head, though. Email me if interested:
