I took some average values using Mark's Apogee quantum meter this morning. (I say "average" because the values constantly fluctuate no matter what I do to keep it constant. I also have the added complication of ambient light from sunshine messing with my results.)
This device by Apogee measures photosynthetic photon flux in microeinsteins.
I don't know how to superimpose number values on the picture of my aquarium and I need somebdy to help me out.

Values just above the water surface (from left to right) are 590, 810 and 500.

Values just below the water surface (from left to right) are 450, 600 and 350.

Values down low are 110 (around the white coral at the bottom left), 180 (around the blue coral located around the bottom middle) and 100 (around the bottom right side).

If someone could take a moment to help me out I'd appreciate it greatly
:)

Just tinkering w/ Gimp 2.0 (free Photoshop substitute), here's what I came up with:

With some more tinkering, I could add a bit to the top of the image for your above water values.

that's absolutely great. Thank you!

Even though the left and right lamps are the same (250 watt Hamilton 10k's) their ballasts are different. The ballast on the left is a newer EVC eballast. The ballast on the right is a 5 year old Blueline eballast.
I'm glad the Apogee confirmed what I could see with my own eyes: the bulb on the left is definitely visually brighter than the one on the right.
