View Full Version : what tool works best for opening up the teeth on overflow cover??

I want this to look nice but I want to open up every other tooth on overflow cover....what works best for this so we don't destroy it! thanks!

I'd just use a dremel with a cutting wheel on it. Once the teeth are out, you could then buff it to make it look more pretty.

I used a dremmel with the tank full!! Kinda scary with water and power tools 4 inches above on full blast! If you don't put sand it till very last and don't stack rock against the overflow you can test run it to see if it even needs any opened up or not. My dremmel work is pretty shabby to say the least. And I got the cut too low and now my tank level is as low as the lowest cut which shows about 1" below the rim now :(. I could weld in a peice to fix that but oh well...
