purigen & phosban
I am putting a TLF phosban reactor in my sump tomorrow to help get po4 down,i am at 0.03, hanna po4

my nitrates are at consistent 5 pinpoint no3

i will be also putting in a couple of sps frags first ones,
i have lps ,and softies, shrooms, zoas all doing great

my question is ,i have some purigen in my sump now but i fell the water is just going around it,

i was thinking

can i put some in a media bag ,and put it in my phosban reactor along with the phosban?

i also have a magnum 350 that i am using to run my carbon ,will it be better to put the purigen in the magnum,
only thing is the magnum has alot more flow ,?

any thoughts

thanks for your time

supposedly the margin of error on the Hanna low resolution colorimeter is 0.04, for mine Zero PO4 is indicated by 0.01, another board members unit has 0.00 at zero, your unit may be 0.03 at zero, that would be within the margin of error of the unit.

that said 0.03 is where you want a reefs PO4 at, corals need a small amount of PO4 in the water, 0.03 is considered that level.

I would not put the purigen bag in with the phosban. The phosban is supposed to tumble gently to work properly and the bag may throw it off.

JetCat USA ,my hanna is a consistent 0.03 ,salifert, api say zero
but i will install the p04 reactor just to be sure i still get some algea on the sides and back of the tank ,im thinking it has to be the p04 ,all else seem good ,flow ect. thanks

zeorocka,thanks thats what i thought ,

ANY THOUGHTS OF PURIGEN IN A BAG IN THE MAGNUM?
or would that be to much flow for the purigen?

thanks

get another phosban reactor and put purigen in it. Increases effectiveness 10 fold, dont use a bag, fluidize it like phosban.
