Charles ... probably no need to mention this to you, but definitely keep the tank covered with no small holes. I came home from a trip last month to find that mine had leapt through a 1/2" crack between two solid acrylic lids ... unfortunately by that time the MH bulb 3" above had turned it to a nice, crisp brown.

Good to see you finally scored one of these as you've been wanting one for some time!

I'm actually making the net cover for the top of the tank... for the leopard.. he got punked to death by the mystery... didnt make it to the second day... this lineatus is large and dwarfs the other wrasses...

Sorry to hear about your leopard, are you going to use eggcrates? or are you going to go to a fabric store to get some nylon netting? And your Giant turbo Is one hell of a bulldozer ;)

Very nice. My Lineatus has jumped a few times too but, luckily, I've been around to save him. I saw a few of these at Atlantis on Saturday-unusual to see males in a LFS.

Is that a Temmecki (sp?)

Lineatus... sub-male or female... need to get me a supermale though.

The temmecki is nice though... next on my list is the Choati Leopard, SuperMale Lineatus, Blue filamented flasher and Labouti.

Maybe a Rhomboid if I ever upgrade the size..

It was sold to me as a blue sided fairy wrasse.

I think I have something similar, but it was sold to me as an exquisite wrasse - lol. I really didn't think I could find an exquisite wrasse for $30.00 so I knew it was too good to be true.

I have a clown wrasse that was sold to me as an Esquisite too...

Nice addition Charles. Love them wrasses. When I get a new wrasse I'll have to take some pics and post em up. Any suggestions to go along with my current Lubbocks and potter's leopard?

Nice wrasses! I love Cirrhilabrus wrasses, but my fish are too rough for them. I had a lineatus a year back for a about 6 months till I sold him to another reefer. Great fish, but a total ditz. When my maroon chased him, he'd jump. When the lights went on, he'd jump. When the PH switched, he'd jump. He'd be eating and get so excited he'd jump. I heard that fish bounce off the acrylic cover at least 3 times a day. I finally decided to let him go to a more laid back tank. Beautiful fishes, though. I still think about a Jordan's now and then, but not gonna do it. The cast net idea is a great idea.

Is that a McCoskers or Carpenter.. very similar.. but the one I had that same carpenter, jumped out prior to installing the net.

fishnfst: Folks are advocating the use of this fish..

http://www.vividaquariums.com/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=01-5024-10

Helps control nudis, bad snails etc... Only grows to 8" same as the yellow coris.

for the yellow coris..
The Yellow Wrasse is also referred to as the Golden Rainbowfish, Golden Wrasse, Yellow Coris, or Canary Wrasse. It is golden-yellow with a black eyespot on the dorsal fin.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with a sealed lid, a 2-3 inch sandy bottom to hide under when frightened, and other peaceful Wrasses, including its own species, provides a good environment. It will eat fireworms and pyramidellid snails, protecting corals and clams. In addition, it may eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms. It may also eat parasites off of tank mates.

Regular feedings should include a variety of prepared and live meaty foods, such as feeder shrimps, flaked foods, and marine fish

I just don't trust CORIS wrasses in my tanks due to previous coris wrasse caused destruction in my previous tanks. But if you get a tiny one it shouldn't be much of a threat.

This fish...
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/WrassePix/Halichoeres/Halichoeres_chrysusAQ2.jpg
...is Halichoeres chrysus. It is NOT a coris wrasse, even though for some reason the common name "yellow coris" is applied to it. It gets about 4" max size and is very peaceful. Very different behavior and reef suitability from the true Coris wrasses.

The "green coris" is Halichoeres chloropterus and gets about 8" full grown. The two species will get along in spacious tanks.
