I have 2 12 gallon JBJ nano cube Dx's. I noticed the other night that the lights were not on, but the fans were still running.
To make a long story short, i changed the PC's to brand new ones and took the ballast from the other tank and plugged it into the dark one, and the lights came on great.

When i plug the origional ballast back in, the fans still work, but the lights don't come on. I would guess that this is not a fuse issue since the fans are working and it might just be a bad ballast, but does anybody have any suggesstions?

Thanks,

you sound like you figured out the ballast is indeed bad, seems to be the only option after that test.

Can you contact the mfg to get them verify it and or replace it if under warranty??

I just got off the phone with the JBJ people, who also said the Ballast is bad and it would be $50 for a new one, plus about $12 for tax, S&H.
I guess that kind of sucks, but it could be worse.

No warranty? Contact your point of purchas and maybe they can help you out. JBJ do suck in honoring warranties so good luck on that end.

but way to go to diagnose the problem yourself
