Snail Question

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but can I just get any snail from outside and put it in my tank?

any snail? they need to be saltwater snails. nass, turbo, astera, cerths, neierts(sp.) are some of the main ones you will want. freshwater snails will dies in a saltwater tank. as in apple snails and such.

snails outside are land snails meaning they can not go in saltwater or any water, snails from streams and ponds are fw and can not be added to saltwater, some snails from the ocean are not reef safe or are coldwater species

Outside snails + salt = melted snail
