Just thought it would be cool to see everyones full tank shots. So people can get an idea of what others are doing. I know there are some nice ones out there. Would be nice to see tanks in person, but that isn't always an option. So post a pic and show off your tank!

I'll start

my new 75 gallon. Aquascaping nightmare.

Tank Dimensions are 6' x 18" x 23" I think.
I have a 3rd mini reflector that I am going to use, but I need another ballast before setting it up. I get decent coverage though for only using 2 reflectors.

Nice tank Tiki. I should've went with 14k bulbs. The 20k are too blue.

What kind of bulbs are you using cozen?

Cozen89

2 175watt XM 20k's with 2 140watt VHO actinics. Even with actinics off it's still really blue.

rleechb
07/25/2007, 10:55 PM
I don't like posting pics very often of my tank; it's very self-conscious about its appearance ;)

Instead of taking your 210, how about you setup another tank and come take some frags off of my hands? :D :D

Nope, the tank's been setup for 10-11 mos now. I wish I could tell you why I have so little coralline (there's actually a little bit on the pumps/overflow/rocks, but not much). Parameters are in check, and the corals are all growing, so it's not much of a concern (coralline is a pain, anyways).

do you run a UV ? because I do, but i think im underated, so I do have very little...the damm alage is just covering the back glass..

jmc74
07/25/2007, 11:23 PM
also what light are you using to get the colors so nice?

rleechb
07/25/2007, 11:31 PM
No UV. I run a little bit of ozone, but I haven't noticed any difference in water clarity/algae at all since starting. A bit odd considering there was a huge difference in water clarity on my last tank (I may just have a bad ozonizer).

I have a little bit of algae, but not too bad. I run a phosban reactor/fuge and skim heavily.

2 x 250 Phoenix 14k's. Kind of wish I had actinics, but I'm far too lazy to install them ;)

Thanks for the compliment. I'd recommend looking into the iwasaki 15k's; people have been raving about those bulbs for a while now.

ok, I'll try to remember that recommendation in 9-10 months when it comes time to replace =)

Hey Ray. Your tank's still amazing. Still don't know how you can keep it so clean with the little cleaning you do. Btw can you find the frags I got from you in the pictures? Here's my tank shots.

Lordhelmet- It's shot from the front...a close up of the middle.

rleechb- the sunset's grown out nice, but the superman I got from you is in the 2nd pic right below the purple haze. It's pretty much doubled to tripled in size in the month I've had it. The turqoise blue zoas I got from you went from 4 to 12 in a month. =)

much has changed since this pic, i went on vacation, all on my SPS in this pic are dead, and the brian died, my baby maxima was found being devoured by my nassarius, and no signs of my male true perc. but surprisingly my Squamosa recoverd from PM, my purple mushroom split, and my zoas started to spread fast

since this pic i have added a frag of idaho grape monti, a yuma, a longnose halkfish and some shrooms

Thanks Chris. I still can't get as good colors as you did in that 55 of yours though (remember the Pink milli???)

Don't worry about the 75, your 180 is going to be up soon and looking awesome ;)

It's a female bellus angel that's about 5" long. I've got a 3" female watanabe angel swimming around in there also.

nice, i just picked up a small 2 1/2" female lamarck angel the other day. It hasn't been out much with the other fish around but I really like the look of it. I read they change sex to males when there are no other males around.

wow, how do you get the 14k's to show that color, I have new 14k phoenix DE and see my shot, it look nothing like yours.. I just orderd new PC lights that are Actinic 03 420nm, unlike the Actinic blue everyone has the is just blue light, the ones I ordered are purple 420nm, so i hope I get the pop you have...

What ballasts do you run them on? I run mine on coralvue eballasts, which for some reason or another, tend to burn phoenix's quite a bit whiter than other ballasts.

I like the phoenix’s, but they do lack a little bit of pop. From what I’ve heard, they lack intensity in the 420nm area. I’m not sure if it’s related, but my greens don’t “pop” all that well. Maybe I’ll give those reeflux 12k’s of yours a shot ;)
