hey guys my tank crashed, all my zoos closed, frogspawn and torches melted, two acros arent looking so good, i had a cyno problem and used chemi clean...needless to say im not doing that again. im waiting to see what survives to figure out what i'll do next. im confused because my fish and inverts are fine, just coral problems...ive done several huge water changes, and im open to suggestions, thanks

Wow. I used Chemi-Clean tons of times. Even overdosed it like crazy and never had a problem. Did you do a water change 48 hours after using it? Was there a ton of cyano?

What's your current PH level? Sudden changes can cause very negative reactions on coral. Fish are a little less sensitive to PH fluctuations. I have never heard of Chemi-clean causing a tank to meltdown....

i havent had the time to test my tank yet, im taking a water sample in tomorrow, yeah i did the water changes as instructed with the chemiclean

Thats odd I never had a problem with chemi clean. Sorry to hear about that. Did you keep the tank aerated?

did you run any carbon during/after the chemi clean? how old was the bottle of chemi clean?

I've used chemi-clean 100's of times....I love it, never had any problems..

wow sorry to hear about the crash. Heavy skimming water changes and run a ton of carbon asap or say goodbye to everything.

the bottle of chemi clean was a couple years old

Its been almost 10 years since I used chem clean. It did nothing for me. I know its an antibiotic. It kills an infection. It may have killed off too much good bacteria in your system.
