Sailfin and Desjardini Sailfin Tang

I am going to buy a 180g gallon tank next week. Right now I have a Sailfin tang that is about 2.5". I want to add a Desjardini Sailfin Tang to the 180g. Would they fight, or can they get along.

I would not suggest it.

Wouldn't suggest it at all. At least when mixing members of the same genus there's a 50/50 chance because at least the colors are different, but those two are very similar looking fish. I think the chance of success with that mix is very very small, and you should not risk it.

They are basically the same fish and some experts believe they may actually be one species, given this I believe you would have zero chance of getting these two fish to get along. On a side note this fish gets huge and if you manage to keep it long enough it will outgrow a 180, mine did but it took about 12 years to do it.
