My pinpoint meter bounces all over the place within a range.. is this normal or is it supposed to stay at one numerical value and change as the reading changes????

Mine doesn't bounce around. I think if it's doing that you would need to recalibrate it or possibly get a new probe. Is the unit new? If so, maybe you got a defective probe...

It is new and I had calibrated it...
have had it for 3 weeks.... has done it since it has been in the tank...
will constantly cycle between say 7.94-8.09 etc back and forth....
so yours reads at a constant number???

I have had this several times but I can not remember what causes it.. I would check the connection of the probe to the unit and the battery's. I think mine did this when the batteries get low..

oddly, I have noticed that since I switched to using an AC adapter, my Pinpoint reads more consistently.

Is it near a kalk drip, reactor or pump of some sort?

Try a battery or shut off the lights and see if the reading stabilizes....

By "constantly" you mean every few seconds or every few minutes, right? If so, something is wrong with your probe / monitor. My pH reading maybe changes 0.01 every 15 minutes.
