I've got some fairly hardy and easy to keep acro frags -- The EvilMel's Green Mille -- that people can get for a trade or for free :)

It has grown since this pic. It is the coral in the upper right.

Crumble, Are you gonna make this a sticky? Rule on PM'ing about the offerings to prevent hijacks? Just a few ???

Anywho... I ALWAYS have Xenia for trade or sell. $10 per base stalk, and they are usually large. here is the mother colony.

I've got it in the queue to be stickied. Let's see how it goes for a while before making any rules. If it gets overloaded, I can always unsticky it and start a new thread with some rules :)

im interested in it crumbletop....but how well do they do with PC lighting....i have a acro that is doing really well...think it'll work?

crumbletop

If you keep it near the top it may do alright. It is pretty easy to keep. Since you already have an acro that is doing okay, this is worth a shot.

John- I had an evil mel's hairy green mille under PC's for a few months and it did alright. That said, I had it all the way at the top of the water and even then, I didn't get a whole lot of growth out of it until I moved it into a new set-up with better lighting. I now have moved it almost onto the sandbed of my 90 and it's doing fine (T5's). It's not growing as fast as it was up high, but I'm actually getting much more green color and better polyp extension.

I've got the following frags for sale or trade:

4"X4" (roughly) peice of purple with blue polyped Montipora hodgenesis (sp?, basically a cap coral--this is a really nice peice)

3" peice with multiple branches of ORA german blue digi

1-2" peice of ORA german blue digi (I have 3 of these)

1-2" peice with multiple branches of Pavona (brown and green color, got 3 of these)

6"+ Kenya tree on 3-4 lb peice of LR

1-2" with branches ORA Purple Digi (got 3 of these)

FRAGS FOR FREE

Brown button polyps: I've got one rock with about 20 and another with 5-10.

Small Kenya Trees (I've got them ranging from 1/2" - 2")

I've also got some yellow polyps I can give away, but they need to be trimmed off a peice of LR in my tank.

I'm mostly interested in trading for nice zoas or other SPS. PM me if your interested in anything.

Hey,when I come down I had though about tring to bring some green star polyps & I migth frag some button polyps. The only thing is how long I can keep them alive .

crumbletop
07/21/2007, 05:59 PM
If you bag them well with a decent amount of water and air in the bag, and you keep them at a decent temperature they can last for a couple of days. If you are bagging stuff to bring down here with you make sure you have some takers so that you don't waste the effort and the corals don't suffer.

Does AC take kenya trees?

crumbletop
07/23/2007, 01:27 PM
They might take small frags or kenya trees. You'll need to call them to check because they only accept things on certain days and you need to call them ahead because they might be full up with no place to put anything.

LMK if you are interested. You'd probably be better off picking things up on the way back home. I'm in Brentwood which is just south of Nashville.

If you think those green mille would do okay under 110 watts of PC light @ 4" away from the bulbs... or if you have any other SPS that you're looking to get rid of that would do alright at those levels... I already have some purple montipora digi and green bird's nest acro... but, like I said... I'll take whatever I can get. AND it's for a nano tank, so even a reeeaaaalllllyyyy small piece would be great since it'll look huge in the tank. :)

crumbletop
07/29/2007, 01:04 PM
No problem. The mille will do better under better lighting, but I think it would do fine that high up in you tank. You are certainly welcome to a piece :)

Yay! It's so hard getting small pieces for my tank. What might be a little frag for you guys is almost a full sized colony in my tank. ;p

Like I said, I feel bad going in there frag hunting all the time, but the pieces that are for sale at the store are too big for my tank. The joys of nanos... can't wait to get some money to get a full sized tank set up.

Thank you!

FWIW, the bird's nest and the monitpora digi are doing great in the tank... esp the monti, it's all kindsa coloured up. The spot I'm thinking about putting what you bring will be even higher... only by @ 1" or so, but still higher.

Any and all! I have T5 lighting so I'm limited Ijust wanna add some excitement to the tank.

crumbletop
11/06/2007, 07:32 PM
What kind of T5s? High output T5s should be fine for just about anything. Are you doing a mixed reef? Mostly SPS? Softies? My tank is 90%+ SPS and I could probably snip a few pieces here and there. There are 2 other frag threads going right now:

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1237651

and

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1240387

I haven't been following the threads, so I don't know if they are sold out yet. Take a look. I'm happy to post more about what I might could get you if you don't find what you are looking for there :)

Thanks crumbletop,
I have the Nova extreme with 2 10000k white and 2 actinic tubes and the L.e.d. moonlights the fixture is about a month old. I didn't know about this site when I bought lights

crumbletop
11/06/2007, 08:07 PM
Those lights should do fine as far as I know. Does the nova extreme have individual reflectors for each bulb, or just a single reflector? If just a single, the output will not be as good, but things that like light should still do pretty well if you keep them in the upper half of the aquarium.

Hey Nashville, this is Bryan from LMAS.

We are going to try to have a few members come down and check out the swap to help support you guys. We are a very active club and our members have some great, and rare, stuff.

If its ok, I might bring some frags of AoGs. I just fragged out about 10-15 polyps tonight, so they'll be ready just in time for the swap.

To make it clear, sellers should list out what they plan to bring. Thats how we did it and our first swap went very nicely.

Hope to see you there.
