I have a 29G tank thats 30" across. It seems that this size gets looked over once you start getting into the higher level stuff. Anyone have any suggestions on what or where I should look into?

24" fixtures with expandable (usually optional) legs are your best bet. You do get darker sides though.

I've been looking at Compact Flourescent fixtures lately. They're relatively cheap(Well they fit my price range) and have the size that I require. Would two 65 watt bulbs be good enough for low to mid light Corals? Would a BTA be possible under this lighting arrangement?

you would be pushing it to grow a BTA under 130 watts of light, especially PCs. I would go with T5s if I were you, but they are hard to find in anything other than 24/36/48 etc. inch configs. A 4 bulb unit with good reflectors that is 24 inches long would work on your 29.

the above unit would work well.
