I got one of those hydor koralia pumps for my 30 gal. cube. I went with the koralia 4 because I only wanted to have one pump that would create good circulation. WOW! Almost too much flow. I had to move some of my softies because they were getting whipped around. I would recommend them to anyone. Especially for the price. Only problem is how large it is.

Wow you put a Koralia 4 in a 30 gal... Thats rated for 1200 gph!!!! Great for SPS sticks but LPS and softies would just get blown away.

I've heard one review say the magnets are rather weak for the heavier 4. What is your opinion?

It's held up well, but I heard if you remove the rubber suctions it hold better. I guess my glass isn't that thick to cause a problem. As far as flow, I don't have any corals being directly blasted, so my softies and lps seem to love it.

These Koralias are not too bad for the price. I got two of the #3s in a 60g and I think that the flow is just right for what I have.

Be very careful when cleaning these because the impeller shaft breaks easily.

Thanks for the tip. I hope you didn't have to learn that the hard way.

I actually did. :(

I replaced the shaft with some of the plastic parts that I have from my r/c heli toolbox.

If you ever need one, R/C Country carries small plastic rods that's close enough to use.

I have been thinking of trying one of the #3's to supplement my 55. They look a little dangerous for shrimp from the front. Should they be covered with eggcrate or anything?

I have been using a 4 in my 180 for a couple of months now and love it - great flow. No problems.
