i just picked this up , the shop staff were not sure what it was . i think its milleporina ?

It's difficult to tell. Does it have a skeleton? It almost looks like a "Chili Coral" to me.

i think so alough it seams to be spliting. it looks a bit better today i will try and post another picture

Looks like Chili coral aka Nephthyigorgia sp. to me. They're non photosynthtic so you'll need to feed it. They usually extend white feeding polyps at night. When you see the polyps out target feed it something like rotifers, cyclopeeze, and this may be one of the few corals that would directly benefit from Phytoplankton. Also, it's best to keep it out of direct light and a good idea would be to suspend it upside down under an overhang in an area with good flow.

at first glance that looks like chili coral to me too
