I was looking to buy this skimmer but wanted to get feedback on it before hand. Please let me know if you have used this skimmer and how well it worked for you.

it is a - ASM GX1 skimmer

Yes, it will work but the price of ASM skimmers has gone up so much you mine as well just buy a euro-reef.

Same skimmer that I have. It works great so far. I did find a site that has some mods you can use on it..

Gate Valve
Recirculating
Feed Pump

The gate valve mod is easy and cost about $10 if you can find a cheap 1.25 gate valve.

A member of my local club is selling this for $175. I want to buy an RS-80, but can find one for sale in my price range.

Do you think euro-reef is a better brand? i was also looking at deltec

I love my RS-80. Very easy to use and pulls out a lot of gunk from the get go. Marine Depot has the "extruded" version for around $180 and shipping is free.

Euro-reefs and deltecs are both good skimmer but Deltecs are way overpriced. Finding a euro-reef would be the best route to go.

yes but chances are after shipping its going to be close to the 178 shipped price of a new rs80 and es stand for extruded acrylic which is the same as the rs80 at 178. the only nice thing about the new one is warranty...and no usage on the pump.
