i have an 80g custom sps dominated reef, i am currently using 400w 14000k hamilton light bulbs. i have a luxmeter and the bulbs vary in strength from batch to batch, like when i replace them. my new bulbs were weaker than my old ones so i switched back to the 6 month old ones and my tank is brighter. i would like to switch to a different brand of bulb that doesnt vary and are consistent, and i want input of what would make my corals get back their original color and have just as good of growth. i have a magnetic ballast so i cant use radiums which i have heard good things about. so without buying an electronic ballast what would you guys suggest? thank you!
