why MH light necessary to reef tank aquarium ?

is it help to produce marine phytoplankton !

MH's are not necessary to reef tanks. The only reason we need strong lights is for the corals to grow. There are a bunch of different light types we use though...the main three are MH, t5's, and PC's. MH are usually only needed if you're trying to grow stuff that needs tons of light, like a clam or sps corals. But the same can be achieved with t5's too.

Not a necessity, but will allow you to keep more light demanding corals, such as acros. T5's are a stiff competitor though. ;)

although you can't get the really cool shimmer with T5 (but they're cheaper!)
