If the polyps are on the smaller side mysis will do too. You will probably see their feeders come out at night an hour or so after lights out.

cyclopeeze will definitely work. I take a decent chunk and thaw it in an ounce of tankwater. I then feed the acans with a syringe. I also give them PE mysis from time to time.

I usually try to feed all heads but it seems like if i just feed the biggest head, it grows and is just as happy.

They eat just about anything. I feed mine mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, cyclopeeze.

Just to prove how right he is about eating ANYTHING. This just happened in my tank. My coco worm popped his crown and apparently the current blew it to my echinata. I can almost hear him saying"mmmmm, tastes like chicken!!!" as he tries to figure out how to swallow it!:smokin:

What won't they eat would probably be a better question.

I have seen them eat everything from cyclopeeze to "trying" to swallow a whole dead banded pipefish :)

do you have to feed these guys? is just adding trace elements (part a and part b) not enough. you think these guys would do well in 70w hqi sunpod in 24 gallon aquapod. I saw one at my lfs for 100 bucks, must've had like 50 heads in it maybe more.

I don't think you have to feed them. I have colonies that i haven't feed a day but they just grow a lot slower. If you feed them they grow a lot faster.
