Need Help!!!! Echino Is Receding

i have a frag of tyree watermelon chalice and i was growing for a while and now it started to recede from where the edge is. i see some brownish color algae or something on it. i wonder what i should do. sorry no pictures and all water parameter are fine. i have like 6 other echino and they are all doing fine except for my watermelon chalice.

no one has any answer. should i do lugol dip or show i super glue the dying parts.

I would use a turkey baster to dust off the areas around the tissue.

i would also do a lugols in a container of tank water dip to combat any irritants that might be harming the coral as well as to help it heal

Let us know how it works out. I've had these things grow\peel back\keep growing as long as I keep the area they are growing over clean and if they get stung\harmed in any way a lugols dip usually helps

it fell onto the sand and it was there for like 5 hours and that area is now starting to recede. i did a lugol dip the other nite and it does not seem like it healing much. it sitting in my 20 gal under medium lite and medium flow for now. will update soon. thank you.

If it starts to look really, really bad you might try fragging the affected area off to have a clean cut instead of damage to tissue from the sand

no pictures and water paramaters are fine........no offense but blah blah blah blah blah..typical

just make sure water params are "fine" and put it in one spot and leave it..handling it is going to doom it
