Hey all, I have a bunch of flatworms. I have all ready purchased a six line wrasse but he cant eat them all. I have a 90 gallon tank and was looking to purchase another flat worm eating fish. Do you have any suggestions on some fish that will eat a large amount of them?

Thanks,

Matt

I put in a Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse in my 75 when I had a lot of flat worms and he ate every single one. I did not even put him in for that reason but I got very lucky.

If you attempt to add a fairy or leopard wrasse, your six line may very well kill them. I have a radiant wrasse that eats flat worms in my fuge but I would be hesitant to put him in my display tank with my six line. Personally, I would try to remove the six line and add some more friendly wrasses like the ones mentioned above.

A mandarin will eat the hell out of some flatworms.

Get a small siphon and siphon the flatworms out. You can get a lot of them out by doing that and then the six line will eat the rest. If you have like thousands of flatworms, then siphon as many as you can see, then use flatworm exit, then the six line can control any that may have escaped.

i tried the siphon thing, I have millions of them. My parents tried the flatworm exit and it killed some of their most prized fish and corals.

I don't know if it could help you but I had the same experience lately.

I have a lot of flatworms in my tank and a month ago I had to change my bulbs as they were more then due. Well I did notice that having cutting my lightning time in 1/3 to start with the new bulbs as helped me to get rid of 75% of them.

As I am increasing my lighthning schedule at is normal phase, I didn't see them growing back yet.

Sure will keep an eye as the days goes by and see if they are going down or what.

That's my little experience.

If you cut back on the tank feedings.... the Six line will start eat more of them. I had thousands and my six line took care of them all single handedly!!! Good luck
