View Full Version : Frogspawn How much flow is too much?

Hi. I received a nice 2 headed frogspawn today and currently have it at the top of my LR. I run a Hydor Flo (rotating flow deflector) on one of my powerheads and when it rotates the frogspawn gets at lot of flow at one point during the Hydor Flo rotation- enough to have it waving around at a pretty good clip for about one second. The rest of the time it has a gentle waving action. Is this going to negatively affect the coral? Should I move it to an area of less flow or might that brief period of high flow actually benefit the coral? Thanks.

In my experience, frogspawn doesn't appreciate direct flow like that. It may not expand fully. I would test it out in an area with consistent moderate indirect flow and see if it expands more fully.

That's the best way to tell imo. If it's fully expanding then it's happy.

Thanks. I thought that was probably the case. I'll move it when I get home tonight.
