Can I drain the tank down to just above the 40lbs of sand and carry it like that without poping the bottom out?Unfortunatly my slumlord is changing his policy on Rottweilers,so I got to go...Am dreading the move! I got lots of STUFF.Thx

Yea, I would think you would be fine. Make sure to remove all the rocks and keep the level as even as possible and pick it up from all four sides at the same time. I've moved tanks before with an inch or so of water.

I't can't be too much more work to scoop half or all of the sand out once your at that point. Why chance it? Trying to preserve the anearobes or something?

If thats your issue then I would say just put up with the cycle you get when you've set back up. Its just not wort it.

If you don't have stairs to navigate maybe just use a wooden board to give even support around.
