I have had these in my tank for 4 years now. When I bought my original clean up crew I bought 10 "blue leg crabs" these guys were in with that batch. They are getting huge. I have 3 of them. I am now starting to put in some corals and polyps. Are the crabs gonna be reef safe? Thanks in advance for any help.

Nifty looking crabs... that's of course not their scientific name or anything.

I'd bet that they'll be fine with coral... hermits are scavengers. Keep them fed and you wont have any problems with them.

the thing you have to watch out for is there size, they can be destructive in knocking over frags, rocks, etc. other than that you should be fine

ok, those are the atlantic one you see in the marsh.

I wouldn't put them in with a reef.....I have seen them get HUGE, and take down fish.

I am talking about 6-8 inch foot span.

I agree. They eat anything and grow fast too. I would get rid of them.
