View Full Version : Can you ID these worms?

These just showed up today. There is a large collection of them between 50 and 75. They appear to be some sort of flatworm. However, when I suck them up into a turkey baster and look closely at them they seem to be more tubular like a typical worm.

Any ideas? Sorry for the large photo but I wanted to get the best shot possible.

My last group of flatworms died off. They were present on the glass for the most part. Also, they looked slightly different than these.

Here is a photo of the last set of FWs

looks like a typical FW to me, I'd take everything out of the tank and dip it in FW exit maybe if you could, pretty much a teardown and sterilization of the tank. They will get out of hand fast and with as many as you seem to have I dont think predators are going to eradicate them.

Here is a photo of them in the baster.

Chris, Do you think a 6line would help here? If it is the best/only solution I will sterilize but that is pretty drastic. Are there other options?

Thanks!

Josh

Oh man, I got the ones in the second pic, will they just go away?? How many do you have? If it's just some here and there maybe a 6 Line Wrass or Target Mandran may help. There is also a Black Nudi with neon blue pinstripes that do a pretty good job on them.

If you have many then what Reefkoi said may be the best course of action.

DON't get the nudi's i got 3 for the club and got some algat with some flatworms on it to feed the black velvet when no one needed the nudi's and they lasted 5 day's and naw i have a 25g tank with 1000,000,00's of flatworms in it and not a thing to eat them i think you need to get a target mandran know that im going to get 2 this week some time. But that's just me
