I just finished a DIY re-circulating skimmer and after a few minutes of running it the pump starts to get really noisy. I have two sedra on there and both of them will get noisy. It can happen a few minutes after I turn on the pumps or a few hours but when I restart the pumps the noise goes away or when I stop the air going into the skimmer for a sec or two will also help lower the noise. It is more of a screeching noise. I have the suction on the lower portion of the skimmer and the return around the middle. Would it help to flip the pumps around, is air getting trapped somewhere it shouldn't?
