Protein skimmer down for 2 weeks now

My Coralife 125 skimmer has been down for 2 weeks and the part is still on back order. I usually change the water once a wee (6 gallons for a 55 gallon tank ) should I got to twice a week? Thanks

It wouldn't hurt. If it was my tank I would.

I don't know what your routine for water changes is, but make certain to get the new salt water up to temp before intoducing it to the tank. A larger water change once a week would be more effective at removing waste. You would just want to make sure the levels in the new water are close to the existing to keep from shocking anything.

I think smaller water changes and a lot of them would be better than large ones imo.
