I started this thread in the diy section but maybe it is better if I put it here instead.

Okay so I have decided that it is time to add a sump and refugium to my current 40 gallon tank; I have limited space to work with due to the design of the stand that I have and will have to make a 15 gallon tank do the job. This design needs to take any and all advantages of using the space that I have to work with. Sump dimensions are 24"L. x 12"W. x 12"H.
My 40g acrylic tank is not drilled and I still have not decided on either trying to drill it or using a hob overflow; I'm planning on using a 1" drain to feed the sump area.
If I do use a hob overflow it will be the one made my Lifereef with the u-tube design.
The skimmer that I will be using is the new model #8103 from Current: http://www.current-usa.com/fissionpowerskimmer.html
They recommend that the skimmer be run in at least 4" of water.
Skimmer pump information is as follows:
660 gph, 50 watts, 2500lh.
I currently have a rio 2100 being used as an in tank return from where I converted my old wet/dry to a small sump area. Could I use this pump for the new layout or would I need something else?
Rio info: 692gph, 37w (max. 8' head).
I would like any and all comments or suggestions on the design layout; here is what I have come up with.
