I am tired of messing with the Milwaukee regulator on the Co2 tank. I have it set and then it doesn't hold the setting. In fairness, it is pretty old and banged up. So, I am looking at new regulators. I am looking at either the GEN X regulator or the Reef Fanatic. Here are the two:

GEN-X (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GEN-XCO2REG&Category_Code=co2units)

Reef Fanatic (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=RF-CO2-REG&Category_Code=co2units)

I want something that I can set and forget and not have to mess with everyday. I need something that can hold a steady one bubble every 3 seconds rate. The reef fanatic is nice but it is almost twice as much! Is the Gen X as good?

As far as quality and value is concerned, this is the regulator that I use:

Yes, there is a price tag that comes along with it, but no regulator on the market has a 3 year warranty; it's usually 6 months.

That looks really nice! I like the 3 year warranty.

IndyMatt.

old salty was the one awhile back that steered me towards the regulator he posted the link for. Glad I took his advise as its a well made quality regulator that is easy to use and "regulate". Cant beat the 3 yr warranty either :) Most of the others have 6mth or 1 yr warranties. It costs a little more but well worth it in my mind.

Well, I was sold on it, literally. I really like the 3 year warranty!

Ols Salty recommended the same regulator from aquariumplants and you cannot go wrong. I love this thing. Throw you Milwaukee regulator away

I'm glad to hear that you folks enjoy the regulator. With all the different choices of equipment in this hobby (or any other hobby), it can be difficult to make a choice based on someone else's opinion; even more so when that someone is a faceless person on the internet. Because I also run a planted freshwater tank that requires more CO2 than my reef tank (no longer using CO2), I knew I wanted a good one and was willing to spend the money. I will admit that I haven't tried every other regulator on the market; just the bad ones!! 3 year warranty is unheard of; only recently did the other manufacturers lower their warranty period from 1 year to six months.

I think it was mmotown who told me that the aquarium plants unit now contains a modification which completely eliminates the need for the tank-to-regulator gasket. How cool is that??
