I made a gallon of calcium from dowflake. This is my first time I used this so can anyone tell me how fast you can get an accurate reading of the tank's calcium level with this stuff? It has around 24x turnover and 140 gallons.

Thanks.

work right away. Its a bit milder than the reef calcium you buy in a bottle. You can use randys table to figure how much you need to add to get the desired calcium.Look in the reef chem forum and you will find it

Thanks. I want to get my new SPS I bought into the tank since it has 3 halides, these are more light demanding corals, plus the new tank has much more open flow.

Didn't anyone tell you that patience is the most important thing in this hobby? :)
Better to wait overnight IMO to make sure levels have stabilized.

I used the stuff for 2 years works great. You can test in 5 to 10 minutes of dosing.I would check your levels first to figure out how much to add.
