Where is the most colorful dive to be had in the contiguous 48 states?

Just curious. I did key largo in Dec and that was ok. (coming from me who just got back from Australia in dec...)

No matter where you go you will need a good light.
Water filters out reds and oranges very fast as you desend. We just got back from Little Cayman, they have sponges that look jet black, but when you take a picture with a flash they are really blood red.

Have you been to Looe key, its in the FL keys and is a national marine sanctuary. I've probably enjoyed that spot the most. I also dived every summer around Jupiter/West Palm area. Not too bad, not many corals though if thats what your looking for. The most pristine water I ever dived in was off a private beach in Jupiter.
Cheers

The further down you go in the keys, the better. Key Largo is in the northern most of the keys. I really like Sombrero reef off of Marathon.
