I heard that Copperband Butterfly will eat aptasia. Is that true??

yah, it should eat aiptas and glass anemones, and some sometimes would nip corals here and there but rarely cause any real damage.

I don't know about CB's but my Threadfin eats every bit of it he can find. Unfortuantely, he has also eaten anything that even begins to look like a feather. He occasionally nips at my leather and my shrooms have all receded to where he can't reach them, but he leaves the SPSs alone.

Whenever I find aptasia on a rock in my sump, I just dip it into the main tank and he comes over and cleans it all off....

Wow, amazing fish. I have 4 huge aptasia in my tank. I try to kill it with Joe juice but it doesn't go away completely :(

keep in mind that they are hit / miss....and then after its eaten all teh aptasia....what you going to feed it?

I have one in my tank. I got it for the sole purpose of eatting aptasia, and so far he hasn't eatten much. So like others have said...its kind of hit or miss with them.

Also, they don't only feed off of aptasia. After they are all eatten, they will eat most foods you feed the rest of your fish.

Very hit or miss. I had one that took care of all the aptasia but he then developed a taste for some corals.
